DIRECTOR OF LEISURE SERVICES
The Town of Wynyard is a vibrant community seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Director of Leisure Services. This is a full-time position.
The successful applicant should be a self-motivated individual who will be responsible for the effective management of Town-owned facilities and recreation programs. The Director will provide technical, administrative, and program direction to a large number of community sport, culture and recreation organizations.
The preferred candidate will possess a degree, diploma, or certificate in Recreation Administration or a related field. Previous experience in a municipal recreation setting with facility management and/or staff management is an asset. The candidate must have the ability to deal effectively with staff, elected officials, community volunteers, and the general public. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and computer skills are strengths the candidate must possess.

Job Title: Golf Course Club House Staff
The Town of Wynyard is currently accepting applications for the position of Golf Course Club House Staff. Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends. 19+ preferred but not necessary, great opportunity for University students.
Duties include:
- Food and drink service, and assisting with some light food prep. May be working in the canteen or on the beverage cart.
- Cash handling, Golf Cart Rentals, booking tee-times, memberships and green fees, retail sales.
Qualifications
- Food Safe Level 1 is an asset
- Serve It Right Certification is an asset

Job Title: Golf Course Grounds Maintenance Staff
The Town of Wynyard is currently accepting applications for the position of Golf Course Grounds Maintenance Staff. Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends.
Duties include:
- Operate motorized equipment including riding mowers, tractors and utility vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
- Operate handheld power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform regular maintenance activities including, but not limited to tree trimming, raking sand bunkers and general debris clean-up.
- Willing and able to perform all related jobs as directed by the Golf Course Superintendent

Job title: Public Works Seasonal Student
The Town of Wynyard is currently accepting applications for Public Works Seasonal Laborer
Duties may include, but are not limited to, collection of refuse, trimming and removal of trees and branches, assisting with street repairs, water and sewer line repairs, reading water meters, cleaning and maintenance of Town owned buildings and equipment.
Preference given to applicants that possess:
-Mechanical skills,
-Strong communication skills,
-Ability to work within a team as well as independently,
-A valid Class 5 driver’s licence is mandatory.

Job Title: Parks Laborer
The Town of Wynyard Recreation Department is accepting applications for Parks and Green Space Maintenance Staff this summer. Class 5 Drivers license Required.
The position will include maintaining green spaces, boulevards, sidewalks and sports fields within the town. The successful applicants should be prepared to operate a riding mower and hand-held equipment such as a grass trimmer.
Duties will include mowing, trimming, tree pruning, landscaping, weeding and general outdoor maintenance and clean-up.

Job Title: Swim Instructor / Lifeguard / Jr. Lifeguard
The Town of Wynyard is looking for qualified, energetic and motivated Supervisors, Lifeguards/ Instructors and Jr. Lifeguards to work at the Wynyard Swimming Pool for the 2026 season. Current certificates in Standard First Aid + CPR-C with AED Training and National Lifeguard Award or Bronze Cross are required. Swim Instructor and Pool Operators certification is an asset. Position reports to the Director of Leisure Services. Applicants under the age of 16 must have Worker’s readiness certificate.
Job Responsibilities
- Complete daily tasks including; documenting water chemistry levels, following opening and closing procedures, routine cleaning duties and equipment checks, collecting admissions and filling out daily financial logs
- Supervise swimmers, enforce pool rules and effectively instruct Wynyard’s Learn to Swim program
- Provide a safe environment for all facility users and staff

Job Title: Summer Recreation Assistant
The Town of Wynyard Recreation Department is accepting applications for the position of Recreation Assistant. The successful candidate will work with the Summer Recreation Coordinator and the Director of Leisure Services on various projects. Duties will include maintenance of the ball diamonds and other recreation facilities and equipment. Also, planning, facilitating and evaluating Senior’s Week, fundraising events, movie nights, and other various recreation programs and activities. Knowledge of graphic design programs, google drive, word processing and writing, telephone and other communication skills are an asset.
The successful candidate must be a strong leader, creative problem solver, self-motivated, flexible and willing to try new things. A valid driver’s license is an asset.

Hours per week: 15-20 including some evenings and weekends
