Employment Opportunity – Office Waterworks Clerk 

(Temporary Full-Time with a possibility of a Permanent position)

The Town of Wynyard is seeking a motivated, organized, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Temporary Full-Time Waterworks Office Clerk. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, this position plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service while providing administrative, clerical, financial, and records management support to the Town of Wynyard

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional front-line customer service by assisting residents, ratepayers, and visitors in person, by phone, and by email.
  • Process utility accounts, payments, billing, meter readings, disconnections, and new account setup.
  • Receive and process cash, debit, cheque, and other payments; balance cash, prepare deposits, and assist with accounts receivable and payable.
  • Maintain Municipal records, including filing, document scanning, property ownership records, and document retention.
  • Process permits, licenses, tax certificates, and other Municipal applications.
  • Coordinate bookings for Town facilities, including invoicing, deposits, scheduling, and coordination with caretakers.
  • Assist with Council meeting preparation
  • Assist with updating the Town website, social media, newsletters, and public notices.
  • Perform general office duties including correspondence, data entry, photocopying. 
  • Assist with year-end reporting, audits, elections, and other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Office or Business Administration is considered an asset.
  • Minimum two years of office administration experience (municipal experience is an asset).
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and the ability to learn Municipal software such as MuniSoft.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, customer service, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
