Recreational Facilities | Wynyard has a recreation board, a kinsmen club, a kinette club, a primary care committee, a golf course, an arena, three halls, a curling rink, a skate park, and a Royal Canadian Legion branch. Community recreation programs include hockey, baseball, art, dance, seniors’ programs, and numerous volunteer groups. Wynard’s Cooperative Place (1,200-person capacity) is available for rent for events and functions such as concerts, the circus, rodeos, and sporting events. |
Outdoor Recreation | Outdoor recreational facilities include a baseball diamond, an outdoor swimming pool, four playgrounds, an outdoor skating rink, a regional park with 22 sites and shower/washrooms, a community garden, tennis courts, and outdoor walking trails. |
Art and Cultural Services | Arts and cultural services include two dance schools, a library, an arts and cultural center, Town museum, and the Quill Lakes Interpretive Centre. Most religious denominations are represented in Wynyard. However, the Anglican and Greek Orthodox churches have recently closed. |
Key Recreational Needs | There are no community services and/or programs available to support reconciliation, diversity, and inclusion. As community demographics change, there could be a need for more diverse facilities and programs to meet the needs of people who do not participate in hockey, curling, baseball, or other standard programs in Saskatchewan. |
