Full-Time Special Services Bus Driver

The position will start off as a temporary part-time position that will lead to full-time status as of August 6, 2024.

The full-time position is a Monday – Friday schedule; however, there is a requirement for the driver to work in tandem with our other drivers to operate the Special Services Bus on a seven-day per week basis. 
A valid Class 5 Drivers Licence is required. There is also a legislative requirement for a Criminal Record Check for this position.

Skatepark Ambassador 

The Town of Wynyard is accepting applications for the position of Skatepark Ambassador. 

This is a grant-funded, contracted position. 

Anticipated Start/End Date: July2024-August 2024

Hours per week: 20

Wage: $15/h

Number of Positions: 1

Requirements: The ideal candidate for this position is over the age of 16 and an experienced user of the Wynyard Skatepark preferably on skateboard and scooter.  The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently, and responsibly and will have leadership experience such as facilitating, coaching or teaching. Other valuable assets include: knowledge of social media, understanding of social justice issues, valid drivers license.

The position may include:

·         Welcoming everyone who comes to the park, supporting a sense of safety.

·         Facilitating a borrowing program for scooters, skateboards, helmets

·         Modeling the use of safety equipment while using the park

·         Offering tips, informal mentorship for new participants

·         Offering workshops, lessons for new and experienced users

·         Creating designated time slots for specific populations that are typically underserved at the skatepark 

·         Encouraging pride and a sense of ownership for the users, care for the environment and civic responsibility

·         Encouraging welcoming environment- modeling kindness, turn-taking and co-operation
