Job Type: Full-Time Permanent 

Hours: 40/week, Mon-Friday

Job Description:

Duties may include but not are not limited to, safe and competent operation of Town equipment, maintenance and repair of town equipment, snow removal, street sweeping, etc. 

 Job Requirements: 

  • Operating experience on the following equipment: 
    • Backhoe, loader, grader, gravel truck, street sweeper, skid-steer, tractor w/ attachments 
    • A Valid class 5 drivers licence is mandatory (Class 3A or greater is definitely an asset)

Job Description:

Duties may include but not are not limited to, collection of refuse, trimming and removal of trees and branches, street repairs, water and sewer line repairs, reading water meters, street sweeping, snow blowing, cleaning and maintenance of town owned buildings and equipment. 

 Job Requirements: 

  • Mechanical Skills 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team as well as independently,
  • A valid class 5 drivers licence is mandatory (Class 3A is an asset)

Food Services Staff for in the Canteen and Lounge at Co-operative Place

Job Type: Part-Time Seasonal

Hours: 15-40 hrs/ week including evenings and weekends

Anticipated Start/End Date: October 2025

Number of Positions: 3

Wages: $16.20-$17.95 depending on experience and position

The Town of Wynyard is currently accepting applications for the position of Food Services Staff for in the Canteen and Lounge at Co-operative Place. Lounge staff must be 19 years of age or older. All ages are welcome to apply for canteen positions. 

Job Description:

Reporting to the Food Services Manager and reporting to work at either Co-operative Place or the Wynyard Curling Rink as needed; this position is responsible for:

  • Food and drink service, and assisting with some light food prep. 
  • Cashier and customer service.
  • Cleaning and maintenance to maintain health and safety standards
  • Other duties as required to support the Leisure Services Department

Job Requirements:

  • Food Safe Level 1 is an asset 
  • Serve It Right Certification is required for Lounge servers and workers over 19.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to perform duties and represent the Town of Wynyard with integrity and respect for the public, colleagues and supervisors
  • Other tasks as required for the effective operations of the Department of Leisure Services.

Ice Technician and Caretaker at Wynyard Curling Club

Job Type: Part-Time Seasonal

Hours: 20-40 hrs/ week or 160/month including evenings and weekends

Anticipated Start/End Date: October 2025

Wages: Commensurate with experience

Job Description: Under the supervision of the Director of Leisure Services the Ice Technician and Caretaker for the Wynyard Curling Rink is responsible for a high standard of maintenance and cleaning of the Curling Rink including the installation and maintenance of a quality ice surface, the general upkeep, cleaning, maintenance and tidy appearance of the facility, snow removal, refuse management, scheduling, and a thorough closing and removal of the ice.  Training available.

Job Requirements: 

  • Previous Ice Tech and caretaking experience would be an asset
  • Ability and willingness to learn
  • Excellent time management skills, can organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines while maintaining high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with the public, co-workers and elected officials in a positive, courteous and respectful manner
  • Work well independently 
  • Basic level of knowledge regarding repair and maintenance of plumbing, facilities, mechanical systems. 
  • WHMIS certificate
