Wynyard Public Library offers its research and informational resources, particularly to the agriculture and business sectors of our district. Construction and repair manuals are available. Government department contacts and addresses are on file. Consumer reports regarding major purchases and health related materials are ready for use. Books on marketing strategies and other topics are available through interlibrary loans. A public access Internet connection and computer stations are housed within the library. Information on basic Internet uses and applications is available. Print , photocopy and fax services are available.


Wynyard Public library is open to the public five days per week, Tuesday 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. After hours requests can be left on the telephone answering machine at 554-3321, or by e-mail at “”. Librarian Patricia Hitchens looks forward to being of helpful service to all clients. Library membership is free to all district residents.

Covid Guidelines

  • Masks are required
  • Patron visits should be scheduled. Drop-in will be allowed based on the current number of people in the building and pending appointments
  • Time limits are to be imposed. Patron visits will be confined to 15-30 minute visits based on:
    • Patron needs
    • The number of patrons in the facility
    • Number of patrons waiting at the door, or for appointments
  • Touched books are to be placed on the floor (or in provided boxes) for 72-hour quarantine.
  • The washrooms are closed to the public at this time
  • Pickup service similar to curbside will still be available
  • Physical distancing is required

There are three ways to make an appointment to pickup your books or to visit the Library:

Physical distancing is required. Follow all signs, instructions and be safe. We will give you extra borrowing time to be sure the books are safe!  We will always proceed with caution where the health of employees and patrons are involved.
