Job Title: Cost Accountant

Job Description: The Cost Accountant is a key role providing financial and analytical support to the Controller ensuring data integrity of Operational financial reporting data. 

Job responsibilities/duties: 

  • Full cycle production reporting including costing, inventory, yields and other critical operational metrics in compliance with GAAP.
  • Variance analysis from costs through to finished goods, including PPV.
  • Assist and support management team on various departmental initiatives and projects to include identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Performs product cost audits, month end counts and inventory reconciliations to support timely production requirements. 
  • Primary contact for plant’s financial reporting and communication, providing vacation relief to the finance team as needed.

Applicant requirements: 

  • A diploma/degree in accounting or finance and related account experience is required. 
  • 3 years’ experience of cost accounting within an integrated manufacturing environment is an asset. 
  • Pursuing an accounting designation (CPA) is an asset. 
  • Able to communicate orally and in writing effectively within various departments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Advanced knowledge with excel (must be strong with Pivot Tables and file linking).

  • Systematically diagnoses faults in electrical and electronic systems and equipment and repairs or replaces electrical and electronic components as required.
  • Plans installations from blueprints, sketches and specifications and installs all electrical and electronic devices according to the electrical code.
  • Work in and promote a safe working environment and work in strict compliance with all Health and Safety, HACCP, Sofina policies, process SOPs, wear required PPE and follow all relevant GMPs.
  • Promote good communication and collaboration, both within the maintenance team and other stakeholders.
  • Responsible to follow all preventive maintenance processes and procedures and schedules.
  • Accurate reporting of all outstanding and completed work, including parts and tools used. 
  • Work on other projects and duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Applicant requirements: 

  • Must have a valid Provincial Electrician Journeyman Certificate and Red Seal status (2nd or 3rd year Apprentice will be considered). A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a licensed Electrician.

  • Electrical troubleshooting knowledge, including working knowledge of PLC’s, equipment automation and instrumentation.
  • Aptitude for quick troubleshooting and diagnosis of problems with machinery, systems and facilities.
  • Industrial plant maintenance experience an asset.

Job Title: Permanent Full-Time Production Worker

Job Description:  

  • Work in a line production processing chicken plant
  • Handle raw meat and orient meat products on conveyor belts
  • Cut, remove or trim meat sections
  • Package product and apply labels to cartons
  • May have to safely operate motorized power equipment in some roles.

  • Conduct maintenance on pumps, heat exchangers, boilers, compressors and vacuum pumps.
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment, computer terminals and other related systems and instrumentation to measure temperatures, pressures, leak detections and other equipment malfunctions to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
  • Perform daily inspections, daily water testing, maintain logs of readings and prepare required reports.
